Shopping For A New Washer

Buying a New Washer

Buying a new washer is something that no one likes to do. There are so many choices in washers that it can be hard for you to narrow down the one that you want. Do you want a high efficiency front loader or do you want to have a stacking washer dryer set so that you can save space?

Plus, There are so many companies that make Washers so it can be hard to choose what brand of washer you want. GE, Maytag, LG, Samsung, Bosch all make excellent washing machines. When you start comparing all the features that each manufacturer has and then all their price points it can make it easier for you to start narrowing down your choices. All the companies offer washers that fit into any budget, but you might not find the features that you want if you are on an extremely tight budget.

Washing Machine Energy Efficiency

One thing that a lot of people are looking for right now is efficiency. Washers can use a lot of power and water. One way to limit that is to look for washing machines that have the Energy Star rating. This rating ranks how energy efficient an appliance is. The higher the rating the more efficient. Some of the most efficient laundry machines are the front load washing machines. They use less water and less detergent. This makes them less of a drain on resources and they put less pollution back into the water stream because they don't use as much detergent.

Comparing Features

It make take time to do comparisons on all the different kinds of washers that are available. But, it is worth your time to list exactly what features you are looking for and what you want to get. You might make two lists, one that is the features that you can't live without, and ones that you aren't willing to compromise on. This can make it even easier to find exactly what makes you happy when it comes to a new washer. Buying a new washing machine doesn't have to be that hard is you do little planning ahead of time.

We just had our 12 year old washer bite the dust. We were lucky that we had already started checking opinions on various manufacturers so we had an idea of the brands we wanted to compare. We've had our new washer for just 3 weeks but really love it so far. Lots of neat features and it does a bang up job at washing clothes. The only problem is - now my dryer looks so shabby next to it - I'm looking forward to the day when that needs to be replaced.:)

We only bought our LG front load steam washer a few weeks ago but I am already in love with this machine. It was pricey but the ability to wash items that i had to take to the laundromat before will probably pay for a quarter of the cost of the machine. I love that I will not be paying those high prices and deal with the hassle of dropping off and picking up. I highly recommend getting a machine with the steam feature.

I had bought one of the first high performance top load machines and it lasted me 10 years so when it finally died I bought another. We got theLG WT5001CW and we're very pleased. It's almost fun to wash clothes. The controls were easy to learn and we've been very happy with it's quiet operation. One of the best features. Our old machine could drown out our TV at times.

We have a well and have to be very conservative with our water use. It's one of the main reasons we got the front loader - we've heard great things about it's water conservation and we can testify that it uses quite a bit less and gets clothes very clean even with a small amount of water.

I agree with the frustration with the lack of thought in putting in the default programming. These machines seem to have some sophisticated features. I like the setting where I can have it come on in the future - in the middle of the night - or time it to finish by the time I get home from work. No more figuring out if there will be enough hot water for everyone's shower anymore.

All in all we're happy with the performance of our LG but we do have a couple of gripes about really basic things. The design of the door. There's only one direction for it to open which can be a pain if it's on the wrong side for your set up. The other is the cycle settings can't be saved. We use just a couple of setting most of the time. It would be nice not to have to set it up each and every time. And I would have though that would be standard. Maybe next time.

So far I have nothing but good things to say about my front load LG washer machine. It can handle much larger loads while using much less water doing it. The clothes are very clean and we're using less detergent and wasting less water. That makes me very happy.

We opted to upgrade and went with a new LG front loader. I had read somewhere that you should leave the door ajar between doing loads. It was recommended in the book but it helps avoid the one problem these washers have - mold and odors. At least that's what I've read. Actually, it's not a big deal as I got in that habit with my old washer - just giving it some air.

The one problem I found with going for a top of the line expensive Samsung washer is that I will no longer allow my kids to wash their own clothes. The machine was very expensive but even though my teens can pick up on electronic devices much better than I, they can't appreciate the value and expense on us. But, beyond that problem, I'm very pleased with the performance of my Samsung WF520ABW - it has the steam feature and it's ultra quiet.

We just bought a Maytag top load washer. I had heard good things about it and I've always had faith in the reliability of a Maytag. The price was more affordable for the top loader. May splurge next time and get a front load washing machine.

My husband and I did our research online. We finally bought a high end performing Samsung washing machine and we've been very pleased with it so far. I know some people complain off standing water but our model doesn't have an issue. We've been very happy with how clean out clothes are coming out. No complaints.

I don't like to buy anything but top brands when it comes to a washer. I believe you have to stick with the companies that have been around awhile and have a good reputation in regard to all of their products. We like Maytag, General Electric and Bosch. We've owed a Maytag appliance in the past and were very happy with it.

There are so many brands to choose from and the features found on the washing machines made today are very advanced compared to the last time I shopped for an appliance. So, we found that doing our homework was a great benefit in narrowing down our choice. We favored the LG - read lots of good feedback about it.

My husband I just had twin baby girls added to our family so when my washing machine started acting up, I knew we couldn't be without one for long. I immediately started my research and we ended getting a great deal on a second hand LG top load washer - high capacity. Love it.

I believe you get what you pay for. I don't believe in skimping when it comes to appliances so when I had to replace my washer, I went for a name brand and choose a model that got a lot of positive reviews on Amazon. I find that site very helpful in helping me make up my mind about buying a washing machine.

My girlfriend is known for her thorough research. When she and her husband are planning on buying ANYTHING - they research consumer reports and do some online digging. They replaced their old washer with a Maxima High Energy Front Load washer. Paid good money but they were extremely happy with their investment. I respect their opinion so I stuck with that brand when I started my search.

I believe when it comes to electronics and appliances that you have to go with a name brand with a sound reputation. I will only consider Maytag, LG, GE, Bosch, and Samsung. I've had personal experiences with products from these companies and I think you are much better off buying a washing machine from one of these outfits.

My family is moving into a one family home from a duplex we shared with my sister. The old place had a stacked washer and dryer set up that was fine until we started having kids. Now with 2 and one on the way, I am happy that with the new house, we're also buying a high capacity, energy efficient washer. We've been looking around to find out the ones rated the best.

My wife and I are moving into a new home and have decided to sell our old house with appliances. We figured as long as we're starting with new we'd take it all the way. Another reason is because of the improvements that have been made to appliances especially washing machines. They are more advanced with sensors that make it hard to mess up washing a load - their computer figures temperature of the water and the amount needed - pretty nice.

I've been very happy with my new washer. I purchased a Maytag top load washer. It felt strange spending over a thousand on a washing machine. Last one I bought cost about a fourth of this machine. But in my opinion, as years go on, improvements have been made that makes these machines more dependable and efficient.

I believe that appliances are made more reliable as years pass. The only problem with the latest models, the technology is so new that it really hasn't been tested in real life under typical family usage. I've heard that some of these so called reliable manufacturers are having some issues. I like to wait until all of the kinks get worked out of the machine.

I was looking for a stackable washer and dryer set to put in my daughter's apartment. She lives in an apartment house we own. I didn't want to spend a ton of money but I didn't want to throw money away on a piece of junk. The over and under stackable set we bought from Maytag were the perfect choice. Efficiency in a small package.

I love the new Kenmore high performance top load washers. I just don't like the idea of reaching in to get my clothes and I prefer the old way. I'm happy they haven't completely abandoned the top load design. There's still some of us who prefer it.

If there's any way you can take your time in picking out which washer you want, I highly advise it. I was in a rush. All of a sudden my old machine conked out with no warning signs. I pretty much ran out to the nearest Loews and picked out one I could afford. Now it'll probably be another 7 years before I'm shopping for one again.

We just bought a new home and I had the bonus of buying new appliances. When it came to the washer I went with Samsung and I'm very happy with my choice. I read good things about their washing machines and a friend had bought one of their models. She was happy and that was good enough for me.

There's a few top brands to choose from. In my opinion the top 3 are Samsung, Whirlpool, and LG. I just tend to trust these brands. I've had problems with GE products in the past although it was an audio system and it was ages ago. It just soured me on their products.

My washer broke and I rushed out and bought a new washer. It's nice but since I didn't have the cash saved up for this emergency, I stuck with one of the low end washers. I had my heart set on one of the new front loaders with the steam feature but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I highly recommend reading up on the latest models. It's a bit overwhelming when you first go shopping for a new washing machine. So many new features and it's hard to make decisions on the spot. I like to do my research first.

When my wife and I were looking at different brands for replacing our old model, we found there was a bunch of appliance brands that we weren't even familiar with - we had to do some research first. It paid off and we're very happy with the model we got.

I love the new front load washing machine my hubby and I just bought. It took them a while to realize those commercial washers were an advantageous design that could be brought over to domestic washers. They clean our clothes much better than my top loading machine.
